Drivers should expect temporary lane closures on Gateway Boulevard beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23, as Columbia County partners with McElmurray Construction Company for road work.
The closures will affect the westbound lane at 5000 Gateway Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day through Monday, Oct. 13, weather permitting.
County officials are reminding drivers to exercise caution in the area.
“Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected,” the release stated.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible or allow extra travel time during the construction period.
