Drivers can expect temporary lane closures on Gibbs Road this week as resurfacing work gets underway.

According to Columbia County officials, in cooperation with contractor ER Snell, the closures will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 20–22, and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The schedule is weather permitting, according to a press release from Columbia County.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone. Officials advise drivers to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, watch for warning signs, and follow instructions from road crew flaggers.

“If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe,” the county stated.
