Drivers in Columbia County should expect temporary lane closures on two major roadways beginning Thursday, Oct. 2.
According to county officials, Reeves Construction Company will oversee intermittent lane closures on Louisville Road from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day through Friday, Oct. 10, weather permitting.
Separately, E.R. Snell will conduct nightly lane closures at the intersection of Furys Ferry Road and North Belair/Mullikin Road.
Those closures will run from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting Oct. 2 and continuing through Wednesday, Oct. 8, weather permitting.
The work is part of the ongoing Furys Ferry Road widening project, according to a press release from Colombia County. Drivers are urged to use caution in both areas.
Officials remind the public, “whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected.”
They also suggest planning alternate routes or allowing additional travel time during construction.
