A new bakeshop has come to Grovetown.

Lazarette St. Bakeshop opened a physical location on Aug. 14. Owner Kyrie Juchemich said she has been baking for 20 years and hasn’t found a bakery like theirs, which serves pastries, cookies and bread, and decided to bring it to the CSRA.

“For pastries, we do a lot of breakfast items, scones, croissants, chocolate croissants, muffins and for bread we do artisan loaves, focaccia bread,” Juchemich said. “We’re hoping to expand that later. For cookies we do your classics, like chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter and then we also do like gourmet cookies, so stuffed with all the good stuff.”

As for how the items were chosen, Juchemich said they’re sold items at the Evans Market for two years and so they took what was popular to the shop.

“It’s kind of a mix of everything that people have loved buying over the last couple of years,” she said.

As for her favorite items, Juchemich said she really likes the cinnamon roll focaccia and jalapeño cheddar scone.

“The cinnamon roll focaccia is our most popular,” she said. “All of our croissants, chocolate croissants and Danish go really quickly and our pop tarts.”

Since opening on Aug. 14, Juchemich said everything has gone really well and they’ve had a good turnout of customers.

“It’s a dream come true, literally,” she said. “It’s really hard work, but it’s really fulfilling, so we’re excited.”
