Dear Editor,

The citizens and taxpayers in District 7 are fortunate to have two good citizens vying to serve us in our Augusta Commission seat for the next four years.

In studying their resumes two important differences stand out to me – how have they served our district in the past and do they have the time needed to serve us effectively in our commission seat?

I would like to make you – the District 7 voter – aware of the volunteer time Tina has already contributed to improving our district. Her twenty plus years of community service in the National Hills Neighborhood Association attests to where her heart is.

I also know Tina from having seen and heard her stand up for the Vineland, West Hills, and National Hills neighborhoods when she appeared before the Richmond County Planning and Zoning Commission over the last nine years.

I have noticed that the abysmal condition of our parks and recreational areas has been her special interest. And heard her often advocate that they need to be better managed and maintained.  I have no doubt she will continue that interest as a commissioner.

I have already cast an early vote for Tina and sent her a financial contribution as a token of my appreciation for what she has done for our district in the past.

I look forward to seeing her in our commission seat and watching Tina continue to stand up for west Augusta and Richmond County as a whole.
