Letter to the editor: Left should leave Natalie Paine alone

Letters to the editor
Date: September 14, 2022

The leftist Democrat scorched Earth pandemic has found its way to our backyard. Anyone and anything that does not kiss the left’s ring is vilified, demonized and harangued in perpetuity. This latest strain is targeting former Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney Natalie Paine.

Opinion

Certain elements are trying to disbar Ms. Paine because of an unlawful recording of an attorney-client conversation. Ms. Paine did not record the conversation and from all accounts did not know the recording was taken. The microphones were left recording by Richmond County Sheriff Ronnie Strength’s…no, wait, Richard Roundtree’s personnel. Based on subsequent inquiry, Ms. Paine notified defense counsel upon learning of the recording. However, the Sheriff is absolved of any wrongdoing and the then-DA is targeted. This reminds me (and others) of Democrats crying and screaming, “Russia Russia Russia, collusion collusion collusion” for six years, only to learn that the Democrats fabricated (lied) about the whole thing.

Look, I understand if the masses have voter’s remorse regarding the current DA and Sheriff Roundtree. Their records speak volumes. But to go after Natalie Paine’s name and livelihood for something over which she had no control is typical pathetic Democrat election year calumny.
