Dear Editor,
As we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr, in fighting for justice and equity, I am particularly reminded of his saying that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Unfortunately, we are witnessing a world characterized by rising violence and injustice. Ahmadi Muslims all across the world were extremely saddened when terrorists forcefully entered a mosque in Burkina Faso and killed nine worshipers in an unprovoked and cold-blooded attack only because of their faith.

Opinion
The Muslim holy book teaches us that “And who is more unjust than he who prohibits the name of God being glorified in God’s temples and seeks to ruin them?…” [Holy Qur’an, Chapter 2, verse 115]. Hence, attacks against freedom to worship are a canary in the coal mine indicating a rising threat to freedom and equity everywhere. For humanitarian reasons, we should all care and be united against extremism that seeks to destroy freedom.
