Letter from the League of Women Voters of the CSRA
Are you Voter Ready?
Voting is a right, a responsibility and a privilege of every eligible voter.
Are you registered? If you haven’t voted in five years, you may have been purged from the rolls. If you’ve moved, you need to submit a new registration. It’s a good idea to check your status frequently by going to My Voter Page Georgia on the Secretary of State site: www.mvp.sos.ga.gov. October 11, 2022 is the General Election voter registration deadline.
Do you have a plan for voting?
If you want to vote absentee (by mail), you must request a ballot every election cycle. Forms can be downloaded and printed, requested by email or snail mail, fax or requested in person at the Board of Elections. You cannot request by phone. You have until 11 calendar days before the election to make your request-October 28th is the last day to submit an application for the November 8 election. The application form will specify what forms of identification are acceptable. Pay close attention to the instructions and follow them closely. Absentee ballots must be received by 7pm on Election Day. Plan accordingly.
You can vote in person in advance (early voting) starting October 17th. There will be two opportunities to vote on Saturday- October 22 and 29. Polling sites for early voting will be announced by the Board of Elections.
Voting on Election Day will be in your assigned polling location from 7 am-7 pm. Some polling locations have been changed because of the redistricting that occurred after the last census. Confirm your location at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Are you Voter Ready? Vote at every election- national state and local.
