An agreement with the Columbia County Library System is on the agenda for the Columbia County Community and Emergency Services Committee on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

“The agreement outlines the services provided by the Columbia County Library System, and outlines the annual budget appropriations from the Georgia Public Library System for the salary’s reimbursement grant, materials grant, and the system service grant,” according to the agenda document.

Staff is recommending approval of the agreement, which will be effective from Jan. 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026. The Columbia County Library System board approved the agreement during their meeting on Tuesday, Nov 18.

Public Works and Engineering Services

The Public Works and Engineering Services Committee will consider the rejection of a bid for the Pollard House renovation.

“Bids were received for the Pollard House Renovation on October 30, 2025, with multiple bids received. The lowest bid was SD Clifton Construction in the amount of $3,392,281.00 with an alternate of $207,718.00 to bring the total bid number to $3,599,999.00. Due to the bid amount exceeding the budget, the project will be re-evaluated by staff to reduce the scope and rebid or placed on hold until the construction market becomes more competitive,” according to the agenda document.

Staff is recommending rejection of the bid.
