Lights of the South to open for its 17th year

Lights of the South has been a tradition in the local area since 2005 and they will hold their opening day event Friday, Nov. 18.

The holiday tradition features one of the largest lights display you will see in the South with over 5 million lights on over 100 acres.

According to the Lights of the South website and Facebook page, Lights of the South also has a hayride to ride a to view Christmas lights, a visit with Santa, a holiday playground in candy land, the world’s only Christmas tree maze, food, roasting marshmallows and more.

You can also find the world’s largest vertical American flag made of Christmas Lights.

Lights of the South was previously voted as one of the top 20 events in the southeast by the Southeastern Tourism Society according to their website.

Lights of the South is open Nov. 18 – Dec. 30 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. They have general admission for $16 or a fast pass for $26. Kids 3 and under are free.
