Lincoln County (11-0) wasted no time asserting control Friday night at Buddy Bufford Field, exploding for 43 first-half points on the way to a 43–6 playoff victory over Randolph-Clay (4-5-1).
The Red Devils (10–0) delivered a complete performance in cold, dry conditions, overwhelming the visiting Red Devils of Randolph-Clay (Cuthbert) with a relentless ground attack and suffocating defense.
Aiden Jones opened the scoring barrage with 9:23 remaining in the first quarter, punching in a 3-yard touchdown to help Lincoln County build a 21–0 lead after one period. From there, the Red Devils put the game out of reach with a 22-point second quarter highlighted by a pair of touchdowns from Jacobe Moss.
Moss broke loose for a 34-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, then added a 4-yard score just before halftime. Christian Elam contributed a 3-yard touchdown run as well, and the defense tacked on a safety to push the lead to 36–0. Kicker Fortson Partridge stayed busy in the opening half, converting four PATs.
By halftime, Lincoln County led 43–0 and had full command of the game in front of the home crowd.
Randolph-Clay found the end zone once in the third quarter on a 13-yard run by Tyrion Smith, but Lincoln County’s reserves closed out the game without further damage.
The second half was played with a running clock, and neither team scored in the final quarter.
The victory sends Lincoln County into the next round of the Class A Division II playoffs against Hawkinsville next Friday.
