The Lincoln County High School Red Devils defeated the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers with a score of 41-20 on the Musketeers’ Homecoming night, Friday, Sept. 23.
The first half was a tight game with both teams scoring early.
The first score came with 4 minutes 17 seconds left in the first quarter, when Lincoln County quarterback Trey Huff ran in an 18-yard touchdown, putting the Red Devils ahead 7-0.
ARC quarterback Jack Murphy would tie the game early in the second quarter with 5-yard rushing touchdown, bringing the score to 7-7.

Huff added his first passing touchdown of the game with a 25-yard pass to Samaji Jenkins, putting the Red Devils ahead 14-7.
With 1 minute and 54 seconds left in the first half, Huff scored his third touchdown of the game with a 32-yard pass to wide receiver C.J. Crite to extend the lead to 21-7.
The Musketeers would drive down field quickly before the end of the half, and score with a 6-yard pass from Murphy to Kellen McDuffie with 16.8 seconds remaining.
With the Red Devils only ahead by a touchdown going into the half, the team knew scoring would be key throughout the game.
As the third quarter began, so did the route for the Red Devils, starting with a 5-yard rushing touchdown by Jenkins.

Huff added his fourth touchdown of the game, throwing a 13-yard strike to Mekhi Wade in the fourth quarter. Jenkins also scored again with a 40-yard rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach late.
The Red Devils dominated on the ground with 228 rushing yards and finished with 164 passing yards. Huff led the Red Devils with four total touchdowns for the night.
Lincoln County (3-2) will face Aquinas (4-1) at home next Friday, Sept. 30. ARC (3-2) will also play next Friday, this time against Morgan County (3-2).
