WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — LIV Golf officially added Adrian Meronk of Poland and Lucas Herbert of Australia to its roster, along with two other players who will compete only as individuals.

The additions of Hudson Swafford and Laurie Canter will allow for a 54-man field playing 54 holes when the new season starts this week in Mexico.

Meronk, voted the European tour player of the year in 2023, had reportedly joined last week. He withdrew from the PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines. He will be part of the Cleeks team captained by Martin Kaymer.

Herbert, whose lone PGA Tour victory came in Bermuda in the fall of 2021, will play for the Australian-led Ripper.

LIV now has 13 four-man teams with the addition of Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII. By having two wild cards, that allows for threesomes on every hole for the shotgun start.

Swafford was among the first players to join LIV in June 2022 when the Saudi-funded league began. He had hip surgery a year ago and missed a big part of 2023. Canter, of England, filled in as an alternate last year and played 11 times, earning just over $2.2 million.

Swafford and Canter will compete for the $20 million purses and be eligible for the individual points title. Swafford has been assured of getting into every tournament as a wild card, while Canter is assured the first two events.
