I snicker when I hear Augusta officials talk about revitalizing downtown Augusta, especially now that our budget gap has made news. I also get a kick when I hear of concerts and such at night in Evans or even Waynesboro in addition to Augusta. My judgement is still lingering over North Augusta and a GreenJackets game.
Come enjoy the restaurants, nightlife, etc. they say! Friends go and post pictures of concerts, bands, and performers they have seen. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see some of the talent at the theaters and the Bell Auditorium. I have seen a few.
I appreciate all Sheriff Brantley has done since his election and defeat of Richard Roundtree. Gosh knows what Sheriff Roundtree did during his 12 years in office was mysterious and seemed to favor the criminal more than the citizen.
I can only imagine the beating LEO’s morale took when a different district attorney was elected by 1,200 votes by advertising he would reduce recidivism. No one knew that meant he would dismiss arrest after arrest on the principle of getting the big fish rather than the end user. He erroneously has decided he will only prosecute the supplier rather than the end user. General logic will tell you if demand is reduced, supplier will seek other means or locales for customers and distribution. The new sheriff knows and has spoken out. Columbia County pulling out of the district makes more sense now than ever before.
Bottom line is, it is unsafe and unwise to venture out in public after dark in most of the CSRA. Shoot ‘em up occurrences, hit and run pedestrian action, you name it! Not gonna catch me out there.
I would be foolish to leave it at blaming a sheriff asleep at the wheel or laying it at the feet of a newly elected DA. I don’t even know if I could even blame the voters, even though they are ultimately the ones who put both mistakes in place. To do so would be a mistake in my opinion. But as when a ball of string is tossed, society has steadily become unravelled.
The old saying is, “A fish rots from the head down.” Conservative readers know where I am going before reading further. I suspect a large majority of liberals in Augusta know, down deep in their hearts, I am right, and just can’t bring themselves to admit it out loud. We had eight years of a president and first lady who both loathed America. They thought the U.S. was a colonizing evil and did everything within their power to degrade, diminish and reduce our standing in global power. Then we had a man who, obviously, lost his ability to function for four years.
They worked tirelessly at toppling America’s strength and, therefore our ability to exert any influence globally and maintain world peace. Domestically, they did everything they could, discreetly, to drive a wedge between the races, diminish respect for the rule of law as both tried to “transform America.” If ever there was an example of a person using their talents for evil in my lifetime, Barack Hussein Obama and Joseph Robinette Biden are the epitome.
Cities burned, borders opened wide, crime escalated from sea to sea. Law enforcement was totally disrespected and scorned when they took appropriate measures to enforce.
So now we are having a “No Kings” rally/protest and Trump derangement syndrome is running wild. It’s crazy to me how those who hate Trump have doubled down, even after his successes.
I thought it may be more appropriate to name the day “Know Kings” day. See, it is my premise that with Democrat rule in the White House for so long the average young voter doesn’t know what a president doing his job should look like.
So, does his bragging irritate me? Yes it does! Does hearing his cabinet heap praises on him grate my nerves? Yes, and it approaches ridiculousness. Honestly, I think Trump has them do this cause he knows it drives the never Trump crowd mad with rage. I especially love the Trump 2028 hat sitting on his desk to taunt Democrat visitors.
Okay, imagine if you must that Trump is trying to assume the role of a monarchy. Imagine Trump thinks of himself as the king of the world, not just America. I think people show their ignorance when they rally or protest over something so ridiculous.
But there is no mistaking the closure of our borders, the extension of the physical wall at our southern border and the deportation of dangerous illegal immigrants. There is no mistaking lower prices across the board due to actions he has taken. The rise of America to a dominant role globally is evident.
So keep up the good work Sheriff Brantley. Stay the course Mayor Garentt Johnson. Full steam ahead Gov. Brian Kemp. And “Hail to the Chief, He’s the chief and he needs hailing.” I may not know kings, but I can spot a leader a mile away, and we have one in the White House.
Trump 2028 lolol
