Deece Cassius always planned to work with computers.
He studied IT networks and security in college and got a corporate job, but he quickly found that the corporate life wasn’t for him.
“I hated desk jobs,” said Cassius, who combined his computer skills with his artistic nature and created his own career path. “I didn’t like trying to fix other people’s computer problems.”

Six years after leaving that corporate environment, Cassius enjoys what he does as a cartoonist and illustrator with FourRounds Comics and as a podcaster through Freelance Heroism. He’s also a graphic designer and does commissions.
Art and cartoons have played a huge role early in his life.
“I’ve always drawn since I was a kid,” said Cassius, who recalled the days of growing up watching Saturday morning cartoons. His art has been influenced by He-Man, the Transformers and G.I Joe.

As a teen, he gravitated toward manga and even took a class in the art form from Xavier Jones, but for the most part, he’s developed his own style, teaching himself. In his earlier years, he concentrated on pen and ink, but now he uses the computer to create his work.
Some of his other interests involve the world of fantasy through different types of games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering and Pokemon.
Those influences can be seen in his daily comic strip which he posts on Facebook at facebook.com/1d4rounds. Even the name is a Dungeons and Dragons reference. Sometimes, the comic crosses the line from fantasy into current events. Cassius said he can’t separate himself into smaller compartments and remain true to himself.

One cosplayer asked him to put together a design idea he had for a costume out of the USS Enterprise from “Star Trek.”
