The vacant building on an outparcel at the Publix on Furys Ferry Road has a new user.

Previously the site of St. Louis Original Burgers, Pickles Café & Grill and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Mi Rancho will be the next restaurant to occupy the building, according to Christina Phillips, commercial real estate manager with Jones Lang LaSalle. The shopping center and outparcel are owned by New Market Properties. Jones Lang LaSalle is in partnership with New Market.

The anchor tenant for the complex is Publix supermarket. Other tenants include H&R Block, Great Clips, Jersey Mike’s and Papa John’s Pizza. New Market and its primary leasing company Trinity Partners have recently advertised two suites in the plaza as available, one of them a 3,500 square-foot outparcel unit.

Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant currently has nine locations throughout the CSRA, including Mi Rancho Riverwood on William Few Parkway in Evans and one on Gateway Boulevard in Grovetown. The planning for the Furys Ferry Road Mi Rancho at the new location is in its earliest stages, so no date has been set for when the restaurant will open at Furys Ferry Road.

“We do have some activity at that center,” said Robbie Cook, brokerage associate with Trinity Partners. “But it is very preliminary.”

Earlier this year, plans were announced that Chick-fil-A was in the process of purchasing the existing Mi Rancho location at 3064 Washington Rd. with plans to demolish the building. No deed has been recording transferring the ownership of that site as of Sept 6.

The plan for that site proposed shifting the Chick-fil-A to provide more space for parking and the drive-thru. The plan left a portion of the Mi Rancho site as an outparcel.
