Bronny James, son of NBA star LeBron James, and Team Strive for Greatness edged out the Alabama Fusion consisting of Westside’s Khalon Hudson and AuMauri Tillman by score of 63-61 in day one of Nike Peach Jam on Sunday, July 17, at North Augusta Riverview Park and Activities Center.

Augusta Christian’s Luke Wilson, Cross Creek’s Antoine Lorick, along with Hudson and Tillman, we’re some of the local players that joined team Alabama Fusion for this year’s tournament.

Hudson finished with four points, shooting 2-for-8, along with four steals, two rebounds and one block.
“It was a great experience, we still got a lot more games,” Hudson said. “I was getting the nerves out because this was my first time playing on the Nike EYBL Circuit.”
Tillman finished with 11 points and four rebounds, shooting 5-for-14 from the field.

On the opposite side, James finished with nine points, shooting 2-for-9 from the field, along with six rebounds and five assists.
Trentyn Flowers won the game for team Strive for Greatness, finishing the put back layup with no time remaining. Flowers led his team with 19 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Many local fans packed the stands and stood around the court to watch and root on there local athletes against some of the top high school players in the nation.

“It was cool because seeing kids from our area actually playing against somebody with that high of a ranking and it was a great game,” said Burke County High School senior Steffon Terrell.
Terrell also spoke on some of the talent he sees from the local players competing in the tournament.

“If they can compete with some of the best players in the country, the sky is the limit for them,” Terrell said.
Nike Peach Jam will continue throughout the entire week of July 17-24. The Peach Jam Championship games will be Sunday, July 24.
