The COVID-19 pandemic guarantees a Super Bowl Sunday will be different from usual, but that food and beverage will still be center stage for most.
In normal years, the big day focuses on house parties, supportive cheering and a wide assortment of food. For those who don’t want to cook, Augusta area restaurants are ready to supply favorite Super Bowl snacks.
Wild Wing offers a range of standard Super Bowl food options, from salad to fresh hamburgers, to onion rings. Their biggest seller is, of course, chicken wings, a Super Bowl staple. Their wings are made entirely from scratch with 30 different sauce options. The sauces go from sweet to fiery buffalo.
For those willing to eat-in, Wild Wing on Washington Road is a perfect place to watch the Super Bowl. They have plenty of televisions and even a projector for watching the big game. The restaurant will be enforcing state guidelines to protect against COVID-19.

“Every other booth will be open, and employees will be wearing masks,” the Wild Wing manager in Grovetown said.
The restaurant will also have sanitizing stations set up around the floor.
Carolina Ale House at Augusta Exchange is taking a different approach to the Super Bowl this year. They’re encouraging “tailgating at home,” said the restaurant’s spokesperson. “We are trying to get people to pre-order their platters.”
This restaurant also offers an assortment of Super Bowl-friendly food options as well as drink options, including growlers to go.
Carolina Ale house is also taking the necessary precautions for COVID -19. The employees are all required to wear masks and hand sanitizer is offered. The restaurant will not be overly crowded as only eight people are allowed to sit per table, their spokesperson said.
Buffalo Wild Wings is also a hot spot for Super Bowl-appropriate foods. The company is known for its wide variety of tasty wing flavors, and the restaurant is offering Super Bowl promos.
The 50 wings to go is expected to be a game-day favorite. If wings aren’t the right go-to, the restaurant has a variety of sandwiches, wraps and hamburgers.
