Club Car has appointed Lynthia Ross as its Communications Leader, the golf cart manufacturer announced earlier this month.

Ross will serve as Club Car’s spokesperson, alongside overseeing its internal and external communication strategies.

“Lynthia will be a key member of our Senior Leadership team and bring a strong communications and legislative affairs background to the business,” said Jeff Tyminski, vice president of Marketing, Product Management & Customer Experience at Club Car.

A veteran in the strategic communications and policy field, Ross has held similar public relations roles with the Richmond County School System and HCA Healthcare/Doctors Hospital of Augusta.

“Club Car already has an unmatched brand and image in our community and around the world,” said Ross. “Being able to contribute to strengthening relationships within the region and the business is an exciting opportunity.”

Ross is an alumna of Augusta University, where she earned her bachelor’s in communications and public relations, and master’s in public administration. She’s worked in government, having served as chief of staff to the Augusta Mayor’s Office and as a district director for the U.S. House of Representatives.

She notes that communications in private industry is “as similar as it is different” to the same work in public service, both having “generally consistent” desired outcomes.

“The key differences are in the strategy and resources used to make sure that information reaches the intended audience,” said Ross.

She is also currently board chair of the Family YMCA of the CSRA, and a member of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia Philanthropy Board.

Ross said that family is her key motivating force in both her career ambitions and her active involvement in philanthropy.

“I want my son to see something or have an experience and be proud to say, my ‘mom impacted that,’” she said.
