A devastating fire broke out early Monday morning at Jack Rogers Tire Pros, a well-known establishment located at 1724 Richland Avenue East in Aiken.

The blaze, which engulfed the structure, prompted a massive response from multiple fire departments and law enforcement agencies. The Aiken Department of Public Safety, Beech Island Fire Department, and Graniteville-Vaucluse-Warrenville Fire Department were among the first responders at the scene. Additional support came from the Belvedere Fire Department as efforts to contain the inferno intensified.

Authorities reported that the fire had fully engulfed the building upon their arrival. The premises had been recently vacated, and there were no injuries reported. However, the loss to the iconic establishment, which had been in business since 1975, was substantial.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

As a result of the emergency response, all four lanes of Richland Avenue were closed to traffic from Beaufort Street east up to Old Wagener Road. The closure lasted for several hours, causing a disruption to local traffic flow.

In the aftermath of the blaze, expressions of sympathy and support flooded social media. Comments from concerned citizens and patrons poured in, expressing sorrow for the loss and offering prayers for the owners and employees affected by the tragedy.

Owner James Rogers confirmed the incident on Facebook, indicating that the fire occurred around 2:15 a.m. The sentiment echoed across the community, with many recalling fond memories of the establishment and expressing hope for its eventual recovery.

Sabra Michelle Lever commented, “Such a sad sight to a name that’s been around as long as I can remember. Praying for the owners and their work family.”

Similarly, Jan Edwards-Travis shared her thoughts, saying, “Praying for the owners and workers there. My go-to place for tire fixes. They were always so kind and accommodating to me.”
