North Augusta man arrested for killing father

A North Augusta man is in custody after shooting his father.

Jason Glenn Miller, 42, was taken into custody in Colquitt County, Ga. in the shooting death of his father, 65 year-old Bobby Miller. according to an email from Aiken County coroner Darryl Ables.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

A North Augusta man is being held in a Colquitt County, Ga. jail after being arrested for murder.

Deputies were called to 5274 Dogwood Dr. in North Augusta around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a well-being check on the homeowner.

When no one answered the front door, they went to the back where they found the door unlocked, according to an email from Capt. Eric Abdullah with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

“While checking the house, deputies found an unresponsive White male lying on the floor of main bedroom closet. The victim appeared to have an apparent gunshot wound to his head. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene. Aiken County Sheriff’s Office was also contacted by the Colquitt County
Sheriff (GA) with information on this investigation and the possible suspect involved,” the email said.

Jason Glenn Miller, 42, of North Augusta, is wanted for murder and possession of a firearm during the Commission of Violent Crime. He is awaiting an extradition hearing.

The name of the victim has not been released.
