An 18-year-old man was arrested May 17 for a shooting in Hephzibah.
At approximately 9:34 a.m., Richmond County Sheriff Office deputies responded to a shooting at the 3700 block of Carrington Court in Hephzibah. Deputies located an adult male victim who had been shot multiple times.
Jamaari Whitfield was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The victim was transported to the hospital for the treatment of his injuries, according to an email from Sgt. Kimberly Lee with the sheriff’s office.
