Aiken County authorities are investigating a fatal shooting on Friday night in Beech Island.
Demarcus Crawford, 30, was found shot when deputies responded to gunfire on Teapot Road around 7:15 p.m., and officers and medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures on the scene. The victim was pronounced dead soon after arriving at Wellstar MCG Health in Augusta.
An autopsy is scheduled for next week in Newberry, Coroner Darryl Ables said in a press release.
Aiken County Sheriff’s Office investigators and forensic units were called to the scene and are continuing with the investigation.
