Richmond County authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon outside The One Stop convenience store at 2382 Barton Chapel Road.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Raekwon Tyrell Brinson, 28, of the 2300 block of Barton Chapel Road, was a customer at the store. He was in the doorway when he was shot at least once and despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:52 p.m.

A suspect fled the area but was pursued and apprehended near Milledgeville Road, deputies said.
