The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a man found near the parking lot of a Circle K convenience store, authorities said.
According to Maj. Jason Griffin with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the Circle K at 5412 Jefferson Davis Highway shortly before midnight on Monday. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot at least once and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Coroner Darryl Ables, the victim was identified as 41-year-old Bobby A. Johnson of Aiken. He will be autopsied later this week in Newberry.

Investigators and forensic units with the sheriff’s office responded and are continuing to process the scene and gather information, Maj. Griffin said.
No additional details about a suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting were immediately available.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 803-642-1761.
Johnson was being remembered online as someone who tried to be a good brother, son, and father.
Samson Tadesse said, “He believed and called out to the Lord same as his brother did. They are both with the Lord now in paradise. I miss both of my brothers. RIP Bobbito Johnson. My prayers and love go out to the Johnson family.”
Johnson’s last Facebook post was made on the day he died. It was advice for his friends and followers: “ALWAYS SPEAK HOW YOU FEEL AND NEVER BE SORRY FOR BEING REAL.”
