Man shot multiple times near Broad Street in Augusta

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday morning to Curry and Brown Street in downtown Augusta, just behind the Family Dollar on Broad Street, after a shooting that left one man injured.

The victim was struck multiple times and has been transported to Wellstar MCG Health by ambulance, according to a press release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators are actively working the scene. More information will be released as it becomes available.
