A man is wanted after sexual groping a 9-year-old girl at Barnes and Noble inside the Augusta Mall.
The incident occurred around 5:47 p.m Sunday.
“Upon arrival, I made contact with the manager of the store, Kenneth Riley, who stated that there was a little girl inside the store that was sexually groped by a grown man,” according to the report from Richmond County Deputy Tyler Holland.
The victim stated a man asked her to pick up a book from the lower shelf and when she did, he touched her on the butt, according to the report.
The victim’s grandfather contacted the manager of the store, Kenneth Riley, who made contact with the white male. Riley asked the male for his Georgia ID, but the male began to act irate and said, “He didn’t have time for this and had to be at work in three minutes,” according to the report.
The suspect fled the scene on foot towards Wrightsboro Road.
Security camera footage from the store did show the incident, the report said.
