A commercial development called Patriots Square is on its way to a 20-acre parcel at the intersection of Columbia Road and William Few Parkway, adjacent to Patriots Park.
MHR Landlord LLC, the Oklahoma-city firm that owns and is developing the property, is has submitted its master sign plan to Columbia County.
Documents attached to the application outlining the proposed signage plan show the square tract, currently zoned Community Commercial (CC) lined with new private streets and divided into nine parcels slated for retail development, each with their own unique brick monument signage.
One building, proposed for a one-acre parcel facing William Few Parkway, referred to as just “Coming Soon,” is indicated to be a space for multiple shop tenants. A Sonic drive-thru restaurant, on what will be a 1.20-acre parcel facing Columbia Road, and a Blue Marble Academy at the corner of William Few and John Adams Lane, are the only businesses listed in the sign plan by name.
Signage for a proposed restaurant in the southwest corner of the square, in what will be a new 2.64-acre parcel, only reads “Eatery.”
The lots surround what appears to be the development’s anchor, a nine-acre parcel is listed simply as “Food Store.” Its signage will be an entry monument installed at the southeast corner of the square, where the parcel neighbors Patriots Park, greeting drivers to the development.
The Columbia County Planning Commission is scheduled to consider the signage plan for the upcoming development on Nov. 20.
