McAlister’s Deli to hold grand opening at Walton Way Extension location

Date: May 13, 2022

Sandwich shop chain McAlister’s Deli is having the grand opening Friday at its west Augusta location off Walton Way Extension.

The new branch of the Atlanta-based casual dining spot will be the third in the area with franchises located in Evans at the Mullins Colony shopping center, and one in Grovetown at Gateway Square.

“We are excited to reopen McAlister’s Deli in Augusta,” said vice president of operations Kristen Stancill. “We have built great relationships with the community from our nearby restaurants in Evans and Grovetown, and know this is the right town to grow in.”

Stancill also touted the shop’s amenities, noting its “fresh new look,” pick-up window and covered patio with outdoor seating.

The Augusta location will welcome newcomers with a giveaway of its signature sweet tea, with a 30-day “Free Tea Pass” to the first 50 customers.

Officials broke ground on McAlister’s Deli in October 2021, part of a retail development on Exchange Lane by Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate. The restaurant is the latest in burgeoning development at the Augusta Exchange.

Other businesses in the Trotter development with upcoming opening dates include next door neighbor OrangeTheory Fitness; and V’s Barbershop, a barber shop chain known for its old-fashioned style, and has locations in both Evans and Martinez.

Stancill expects that other tenants in the development will complement McAlister Deli’s business. “Orange Theory Fitness is a great neighbor for us and their members will hopefully enjoy having a place for fresh, healthy food,” she said.

Juli Means, Jordan Trotter’s director of marketing, says that OrangeTheory is hoping to open on June 18, while V’s Barbershop is aiming for Aug. 1.

The grand opening of McAlister’s Deli at 3602 Exchange Lane is on Friday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information visit its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/McAlistersDeliAugustaGA/.
