Date: March 02, 2021

Michael Meyers is a local pastor, a columnist for The Augusta Press, and now he is adding a new hat to his collection as director of business development at Gold Cross EMS.

On social media, Gold Cross made the following statement: “Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team.  He has been successful in similar roles over the years and has always been a strong advocate of Public Safety.”

Meyers, a cadet graduate of Georgia Military Academy, began his professional career working at the Augusta Focus newspaper where he says he found he could blend his job with his love for the community.

After working for the newspaper, Meyers went into consulting and has been pastor of Pleasant Rock Baptist Church for the past year.

“I feel like God gave me the calling,” he says. “Being a pastor is just a natural extension of my love for people and our community.”

It may seem that joining the staff at Gold Cross might be another natural extension of Meyers’ work.

“After researching the company, I really came to see their mission as a fit for me,” he says. “I am excited about joining the team and helping them continue to give back to the community we serve.”

Meyers will continue on in his endeavors in pastoring his church and his column printed here in The Augusta Press.
