The 25th annual Miracle Mile Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Augusta Common, marking a milestone year for one of the community’s most beloved events.
Hosted by the Piedmont Augusta Foundation, the walk supports the Randy W. Cooper, M.D., Center for Breast Health and the hospital’s mobile mammography unit, providing lifesaving breast screenings for women in the CSRA, regardless of their ability to pay.

“Oct. 18, 2025, marks the 25th anniversary of the Miracle Mile Walk. Additionally, the physical walk last year was cancelled due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene. For those reasons, everyone is especially excited to gather at the Augusta Commons for this special event,” said Anne Catherine Murray, executive director of Philanthropy for the Piedmont Augusta Foundation.
Event details and registration
The event will begin with a pre-walk program at 8 a.m., followed by the official start at 9 a.m., and conclude with a post-walk celebration at 10 a.m. Participants may drop off donations and visit the on-site store beginning at 7:30 a.m. before the opening ceremony.
The three-mile fun walk will start and finish at Augusta Common, 836 Reynolds St., bringing together survivors, families, and supporters. Registration is free, and participants can register or donate online at themiraclemilewalk.org to support breast health programs.
A limited-edition 25th Anniversary T-shirt is available for $25, with proceeds benefiting Piedmont Augusta’s breast health services. T-shirts and donations may also be dropped off Friday, Oct. 17, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Piedmont Augusta Summerville Campus.
Murray said the funds raised through the walk have made a measurable difference over the years.
100% of funds go to patient care
“We are proud to say that 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to the Miracle Mile Walk fund, making lifesaving breast health screenings available to all women in the CSRA, regardless of ability to pay,” Murray said.
“Since 2001, the Miracle Mile Walk has netted $6 million dollars to keep the Mobile Mammography Unit travelling to 25 counties in Georgia and South Carolina, removing the barriers that many women have to accessing mammograms – time, distance, and cost. The mobile (we are now on our third as of last week!) has travelled over 300,000 miles and performed over 90,000 screenings, and resulted in over 400 diagnoses of breast cancer.”
A community powered by pink
“The Miracle Mile Walk has always relied on community support, whether through sponsorships, folks creating fundraising teams, or the thousands of people who show up to the Walk forming a sea of pink,” Murray said. “Breast cancer has touched every life in our community in some way, and to witness the numbers of walkers and the dollars raised each year gives hope and encouragement to our patients and their families, and motivates our healthcare providers who are in the trenches with our patients each day.”
Even those unable to attend are invited to sponsor, donate, or volunteer to support the fight against breast cancer.
