The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee met on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Date: September 10, 2025

The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee approved moving forward with using a non-disclosure agreement regarding cybersecurity for the county.

Michael Blanchard, technology services director, said the NDA involves people who are coming in to help work with cybersecurity for the county.

“The purpose of this non-disclosure agreement is that when we have an agreement with a company who is providing services for us,” Blanchard said. “Meaning we provide them with network credentials to come in and do a security assessment or their going to come on site and do a security assessment, then we would want them to have this additional, in addition to their contract we would want the individual employees to sign this agreement to make sure that we have that protection that whatever they see here, they don’t share with anybody. That’s purely a cybersecurity protection.”

The MIS Committee also approved cancelling the Nov. 11 committee meetings due to it being Veterans Day. County Manager Scott Johnson said any items that need approval will go before another committee. As for December meetings, all the committee meetings will be held on Dec. 9, and the Dec. 23 committee meetings will be cancelled.

All items were moved to the consent agenda to go before the full board of commissioners.
