The Columbia County Management and Internal Service Committee will discuss a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the City of Grovetown for dispatch services. 

According to the MOU, starting July 1 the county would provide the city with emergency medical and fire-fighting dispatch services inside Grovetown city limits.

“These services shall be provided at no charge to CITY. The COUNTY will be responsible for providing the personnel, equipment, facilities, and funding for the dispatch center. The COUNTY will maintain control over all emergency medical and fire-fighting dispatch personnel,” according to the MOU.

Staff is recommending approval.

Development and Planning Services Committee

The Development and Planning Services (DPS)Committee will discuss an agency user agreement renewal with Georgia Crime Information Center.

“The Board of Commissioners entered into an agreement with the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) on December 1, 2015 to obtain criminal history information for applicants for alcoholic beverage licenses. An updated user agreement is required biennially,” according to the agenda document. 

The DPS Committee will also discuss a memorandum of understanding with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for fingerprinting processing.

“The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office provides fingerprint processing for the Board of Commissioners for applicants for alcoholic beverage licenses. The memorandum of understanding outlines the responsibilities of both agencies for issuing applications, providing privacy rights to applicants, submitting applicant fingerprints, releasing criminal history record information, and retaining results. The Georgia Crime Information Center requires the memorandum to be updated biennially,” according to the agenda document. 

Staff is recommending approval of both items.
