Missing Thomson man is found dead in Appling; foul play is suspected

The body of a missing Thomson man was found Friday afternoon on Bill Dorn Road in Appling.

Kintavious Kentrell Rivers, 25, had last been seen on Feb. 26 in Thomson.

A press release from sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris says that the death is being investigation jointly by the GBI and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. The GBI had been helping McDuffie County in the search for the missing man.

Foul play is suspected. Autopsy results are pending, but Rivers was identified through fingerprints.
