Some golf courses are known for the occasional alligator sighting, but Augusta’s Municipal course was once known as for abutting a large cabbage field. Players complained constantly that their eyes watered and it became hard to breathe when the leftover cabbage began to rot.

Since its first grand opening in 1928, the golf course has, sort of, been lovingly called “The Cabbage Patch.”

The master plan that has been presented to the public for the revamped golfing complex features a re-designed 18-hole layout led by golf course architects, Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, The 9-hole Loop and the Patch and will feature expansive practice areas to serve a variety of golfers of all levels.

Updates on The Patch can be found on the website, Facebook and Instagram pages for the course.
