A murder suspect was captured in Augusta on Monday, six months after allegedly killing a man on Warren Street.
Joshua Wadley, 40, was identified as the killer the same day he shot 38-year-old Ceon Ulmer. Wadley had been on the run until he was found Monday night on Forest Ridge Place, just six miles from the crime scene. The sheriff’s Crime Suppression Team and the U.S. Marshal’s Southeastern Fugitive Task Force made the arrest.
Ulmer was found dead on July 2 outside a home on Warren Street. He had at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wadley has a long criminal history. He became a felon as a young man due to cocaine charges, which led to probation. Over the years, he was charged multiple times for drug-related offenses, including a cocaine-dealing charge that was dropped, and another that resulted in only 24 hours in jail.
He also faced charges for trespassing, obstruction, traffic violations, and disorderly conduct. His most serious sentence was eight months in prison in 2021 for being a felon in possession of a gun.
