Murder victim found Friday morning outside Augusta business

Richmond County’s latest murder victim was found fatally shot Friday morning outside a medical-services business on 15th Street.

Deputies responded at 7:43 a.m. Friday to an injured person and found the body of an adult male, according to sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry. He had been shot at least once.

The body was found in the parking lot of DuraMed Medical Services, a medical supply store at 1543 15th Street in Augusta. The victim was pronounced dead at 8 a.m. Friday, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

An investigation is underway, and the victim’s name will be released once his family has been notified. No motive or suspect information has been released.
