Pop-Up Augusta’s events are designed to be spontaneous and unique.

Over the past several years, happenings have included murder-mystery dinners, multi-course meals on golf courses and a recent nyotaimori party.

Other events are regular occurrences, but with their own surprise twist. Among them are the ever-popular mimosa crawl and the Studio Music Hall at the Studio Neighborhood Bar, according to Kigwana “Kigg” Cherry, Pop-Up Augusta owner.

The next mimosa crawl is scheduled for July 24.

“This is a crowd favorite,” he said.

The crawl will begin at 1 p.m. that day, but the starting point is a secret that will be revealed closer to the time.

“The locations are definitely a surprise,” he said.

Cherry, who lives in south Richmond County, doesn’t focus on one geographic area when he does his crawls. He’s held them in Aiken, downtown Augusta and Surrey Center. He even enlisted a trolley service to hop through different parts of town once.

“I like to go everywhere,” he said.

Not only does the crawl feature mimosas, but food is involved as well, he said.

Cherry likes to keep the pop-up crowds small, but with a crawl like this one, there’s more space for additional guests.

The best way to find out about the events is to sign up for his invites through his website, growingaugusta.co/popupaugusta.

Another regular event Cherry is involved in is the weekly Studio Music Hall, featuring live music at 8 p.m. each Wednesday at the Studio Neighborhood Bar, 402, 11th St.

“It’s from 8 to 10, and it’s all local artists. You can hear some of the best music. It’s like ‘Cheers’ with music. It’s a neighborhood bar,” he said.

Upcoming bands including Tre Sounds, July 14; Gud Vybes Band, July 21; and The Lady and the Gents, July 28.
