MyPlace Hotel, a new extended-stay spot along the west side of Wheeler Road, hosted its grand opening Thursday afternoon, with the help of the Augusta Metro Chamber.

A new construction, the four-story, 30,000 square foot hotel opened one month (“and 15 days,” noted general manager Anu Paregi) ago, among the latest among 80 locations across some 30 states.

While guestrooms at the pet-friendly hotel include amenities such as kitchens and free Wi-Fi, the property also includes a grilling pavilion, a laundry room and even and 24-hour grab-and-go store.

Florida real estate developer Rimrock Companies bought the property in 2024, and built the hotel in partnership with Witchita, Ks.-based hospitality company TGC Group.

“We’re excited to be in this community,” said Eric Myers, MyPlace Hotels’ vice president of franchise development. “We always want to what we can on our part to make sure that we’re doing everything community wise, so it’s exciting to see representation here from the community.”

The late Ron Rivett founded the MyPlace Hotel brand in 2012 with his grandson Ryan Rivett, who is the current CEO. The elder Rivett, who died in 2023, was also the co-founder of Super 8 Hotels, which he sold to Hospitality Franchise Systems in 1993.

MyPlace Hotel Augusta is located at 3731 Wheeler Road.
