Wine, wine, wine. I LOVE WINE (as you are probably well aware). I have especially enjoyed being an oenophile in Augusta since the opening of Taste Wine Room. While Downtown Augusta has no dearth of breweries, tap rooms or cocktail bars, it didn’t have a wine bar until Taste opened in March of this year, filling a much needed niche for the wine-centric crowd.

Tucked behind a narrow storefront at the corner of 9th and Broad, this wine bar is a hidden gem for those looking for a respite from—shall we say—the loud, high-energy scene. With its ambient lighting, exposed brick walls, hand-hewn bar and high-quality glassware, Taste’s stylish digs is the perfect place to unwind. This attractive, relaxed space welcomes solo sippers, date night drinkers and gathered guzzlers to enjoy one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Taste’s wine list is curated to showcase varietals for any palate, intentionally designed to be unpretentious and accessible for imbibers of all kinds.
Whether you’re a fan of bold reds or fruity whites, popular domestics or obscure imports, Old or New-World favorites (or all of the above), there is something for everyone. Order a glass of vino (or a bottle) or try one of their wine flights to sample several wines all at once. Retail bottles are also available.
What about nosh, you ask? They have that, too! The cheese + charcuterie boards, pizzas, and weekly specials are decadent and pair deliciously with their wines.

What if I don’t drink wine? Taste has you covered with a selection of beers that is sure to please.
As if this place weren’t already sexy enough, they also offer specials throughout the week:
🍷Happy Hours 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday (20% off wines by the glass and charcuterie boards)
🍷Wine Down Wednesdays (25% off bottles)
🍷F+B Tuesdays (10% off)
🍷jazz nights
🍷a post-show sipping special (bring your downtown show ticket for 15% off)
🍷wine tastings
Meet me at Taste Wine Room. You’ll find me in my favorite seat at the bar. And if for some reason I’m not there, don’t forget to tell them nakedepicurean sent you. 💋
