The Augusta chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has raised more than $2,000 of its $7,500 goal, this year, toward its overall mission to promote mental health and raise awareness on mental health issues.
The fundraiser is part of its annual NAMI Walks event, which kicks off this weekend in Grovetown. Reed McDow, coordinator of this year’s NAMI Walks, spoke with TAP earlier this month about what supporters and participants can expect, Saturday: a live DJ, food vendors, charity raffles, guest speakers and even face-painting.
