A new restaurant is planned for Evans off North Belair Road, but details are under wraps.

Local surgeon and investor Dr. John Bojescul has confirmed that he’s attached to a restaurant planned at 406 Town Park Blvd. in Evans, but the nature of the restaurant or its partners have not been disclosed.

Bojescul is the CEO of Evans Society Investment Group, which in 2022 built its Evans Society Center on Ronald Reagan Drive, behind the Columbia County Performing Arts Center. The mixed-use retail development currently houses the second location of Goat Kick Coffee, which Bojescul opened last year (the first location opened in Evans in 2021), alongside Mirin Fusion Kitchen and Elements Massage.

Evans Society also owns the vacant one-acre parcel on Town Park Boulevard, zoned Planned Unit Development, since July of this year according to county property records.

On Tuesday, the Columbia County Board of Commissioners approved Bojescul’s request to rezone 20 acres off Columbia Road to make way for proposed sports training complex, to include a building upwards of 75,000 square feet for field sports, a wellness facility and an aquatics center.
