Amy Hart is eager for June 24 to arrive. That’s the day her shop, Apricot Lane Boutique, finally opens its doors to the public.

“We’re just excited to have Evans come out and see our new boutique,” she said. “People are trying to walk in the doors every day, and we have to tell them we’re not open yet, so I’m ready to open the doors.”

Although part of a franchise, each Apricot Lane Boutique is unique. The individual owners handpick the items that are stocked with “every item carefully curated with the local fashionista in mind,” the Apricot Lane Boutique website said.

Located in Mullins Colony Plaza, the boutique will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.

Apricot Lane Boutique is a California-based operation with over 100 stores. There was a location in the Augusta Mall several years back, but new ownership is bringing in this 1,400 square-foot location to Evans.

“Our goal is to create an irresistible atmosphere for all women to feel special and beautiful. We’re selling everything a woman would want,” said Hart. “That covers clothes to bags, shoes, accessories, down to the details. We import a lot of our items from Los Angeles, so the items are unique and different.”

Apricot Lane Boutique’s mission is bigger than just selling pretty clothes.

“We work with a non-profit called Three Strands that has a jewelry line made by women that have escaped sex trafficking and domestic violence,” Hart said. “I think that’s really special.”
