Richmond County authorities have custody of a North Augusta man accused of beating up his child’s mother, abducting their daughter and taking her to Tennessee. 

Authorities say a coordinated gang enforcement operation led to multiple arrests, the seizure of large amounts of drugs and cash, and the takedown of a suspected gang leader tied to criminal activity across Augusta and Grovetown.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a man found outside a Circle K convenience store late Monday

A 53-year-old Augusta man died Tuesday after the moped he was driving crashed into a vacant building on Gordon Highway while being pursued by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, according to the Coroner’s Office.
