Richmond County Sheriff Eugene “Gino Rock” Brantley has done it again, personally intervening to stop a shoplifter at a local Walmart, marking his second on-the-spot arrest in just four months.

A suspect is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred Tuesday night at Walker Estates Apartments on Peach Orchard Road in Augusta.

The murder and felony murder charges against 18-year-old Nametrius McClam have been dismissed, according to court documents filed Friday by District Attorney Jared Williams.

The murder charge against 16-year-old Vincent Hikeem Carter Jr. has been dismissed following a preliminary hearing held Thursday by Judge Shawn Merzlak, who ruled that the teen acted in self-defense during a fatal shooting last month that claimed the life of 14-year-old Deandre Howell.
