Newsome Electrical Construction LLC is teaming up with Clark Develops LLC to bring a new small business hub, FlexSpace of Evans, to Columbia County.
The development will feature 20 modern, mixed-use units designed for entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses, according to a press release from Newsome Electrical.
Each will include a 360-square-foot climate-controlled office, 1,440 square feet of warehouse space, drive-up loading areas, and amenities such as 24/7 security, pest control, and property insurance.
Clark Develops, with more than 20 years of experience in commercial construction, will serve as the general contractor, according to a press release from Newsome Electrical. Newsome Electrical will handle all electrical work from pre- to post-construction.
“We understand the importance of building with growth in mind,” said Eric Clark, president of Clark Develops. “Flexibility and functionality are central to our business model, which aligns with FlexCo Properties’ short-term lease options that give tenants the versatility they need.”
The project holds personal significance for Chris Newsome, owner of Newsome Electrical, according to a press release from Newsome Electrical.
“When we started 16 years ago, we were a small business struggling to find affordable real estate in a prime location,” Newsome said. “Partnering with Eric and his team to bring this vision to the community is incredibly rewarding. We hope this development will be a catalyst for local economic growth.”
Located just off Washington Road, the site benefits from Columbia County’s rapid growth — it is the second-fastest-growing county in Georgia, with more than 165,000 residents, according to a press release from Newsome Electrical. It is expected to open in 2026.
FlexCo Properties plans to open FlexSpace in early 2026 and develop additional facilities across the Southeast.
