No. 20 Augusta earned a key 72-71 Peach Belt Conference victory over No. 19 North Georgia on the road Wednesday.

Ja’Queze Kirby’s tip dunk off a missed three pointer by Miguel Arnold gave the Jaguars a 71-70 lead with 40 seconds remaining. North Georgia’s Hunter Shedenhelm split a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left to tie the game. Then with 2.5 seconds left Tyshaun Crawford stole an inbound pass, got fouled and made the game winning free throw.

Both nineteen-year head coach Dip Metress and long time volunteer assistant Lennie Carlson agreed that nobody has ever seen a game decided like that, with a player stealing the inbound pass from the passer under his own bucket for the win.
