No certified food manager discovered at one restaurant in this week’s health inspections

The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, and while no businesses received a failing score from Feb. 26-March 1, one did get a score in the 70s. 

A Town Wings, 3205 Deans Bridge Road Unit 9A, Augusta, received the lowest score of 76. Inspector’s comments included: “observed no one that was certified food manager” and “observed no procedures for vomiting and diarrheal events.”

Other comments included: “observed no employee health agreements,” “observed food in the walk in cooler and prep top cooler uncovered,” “observed food not properly labeled,” “observed food being prepped in three compartment sink,” “observed no handwashing sign at the hand sink,” “observed no choking sign,” “observed mops drying on the floor,” “observed grease buildup on the hood vents,” and “observed a missing sink.” 

The other low score for this week’s inspection was for Hibachi Grill Express, LLC, 3861 Washington Road, Martinez. They received an 83. Inspector’s comments included: “observed a pan of chicken cooling by cold line temping at 84 degrees at 2:35 p.m., stated to have been cooked at 11:40 p.m.,” “observed box of oranges sitting on ground by back door near dry storage area,” “observed most recent health report (9/12/23- 86) not posted, instead report date (8/25/22- 95) posted,” “a designated area for employees to utilize or use phone away from product needs to be made,” and “observed back door propped open with no screen door or protective barrier to shield away insects or animals.”
