The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, and while no businesses received a failing score, several businesses received scores in the 80s from May 13-17.
Rivercreek Apartments Pool, 2525 Center West Parkway, Augusta received the lowest of 81. Inspector’s comments included: “pool has single main drain, pump system must have suction release valve/mechanism to prevent entrapment” and “door between office and pool should be in compliance with gate rule (self-close and latch with release at 54” heigh) or be kept lock to public access—advise converting dead bolt from turn latch to double keyed lock (public will not be able to unlock access).”
Other inspector’s comments included: “phones was not able to be heard by 911—repair phone to access local 911, so 911 can hear call from phone” and “need ‘no diving’ in 4” high, 1” stroke letters at depth markings where depth is 5 feet or less — stencils will be approved if proper heigh/stroke and location.”
There was another business that also received an 81, which was Whiteoak Campground (Pool), 7285 Whiteoak Road, Appling. Inspector’s comments included: “gate not self-latching,” “no dial tones, phone not working,” and “CYA at 121—too high, need to drain and add fresh water.”
