Walton Award Nominations Are Now Open
Phil and Marsha Jones of Augusta are the winners of the 2021 Walton Award.
The Walton Award is named for George & Dorothy Walton, a couple of the American Revolution, whose relentless efforts and generous service left a lasting mark on the state of Georgia and, more locally, the CSRA. The Waltons were lifelong public servants who humbly served their community, seeking no recognition or praise, according to a news release.
AP Wealth Management presents this award every February to a CSRA couple that exemplifies the legacy and values of George and Dorothy Walton. The winning couple is invited to choose a local CSRA 501(c)(3) organization to receive a substantial monetary donation given in honor of the winning couple.

Award winners are chosen based on their lifestyle, which exemplifies selflessness, hospitality, courage and devotion to the nation, to community and to the health of families. Both members of the couple must have a strong public service record (together or as individuals). Their lives and volunteering must have a significant impact on people in the Augusta community.
The Joneses won the award for their work in the Harrisburg community.
Winners are chosen by the George and Dorothy Walton Award Committee, and selections are subject to final approval of the committee. Individuals or organizations may submit nominations.
